Our final days in Cali arrived…and so did Papa! Our plan - load all our stuff onto a 26ft moving truck, Papa & the dogs ride in said truck, Greg, the boys & I drive our car. Hit a few spots along the 40 on our way to NC. But first, the loading. That was a plan unto itself. My brother helped, but he had Libby with him as well. Our wonderful friend Alex helped too. So basically, the men folk took care of all the heavy lifting (yup) while I tended to the children (yup.) The kiddies & I closed ourselves off into an empty room & tried to entertain ourselves. There was a mattress on the floor and that's it. Yup.

And that's it for pics of this glorious loading of stuff. A special thank you to my brother & dad as well as Alex who foolishly volunteered (it was like Katniss in that "Hunger Games" scene, ya know?) Alex is a special friend. Special in that he's one of the best guys around. And special in that as he packed boxes, he merely labeled them things like "Box 22" and "Box 27". He then took pictures of the contents to go with the box numbers. And then never gave us the "key." Yup.
And then, we left.

It was sad to leave CA…but exciting to begin this new adventure!
