The next day involved more hiking and looking at "big tall trees!"
And more picnics!
And more hiking!
The famous General Sherman - by volume, it is the largest living single stem tree on Earth! Its estimated age is around 2,500 years. |
Ollie was really interested in standing in the tree |
Hard to tell, but there's a baby bear (aka Myles) in this pic |
Hard to tell, but there's a baby bear in this pic. Seriously, traffic was stopped as people simply got out of their cars to take pics of a baby bear in a tree. |
Although this is first time we've taken the boys to Sequoia, Greg & I have visited many times since moving to CA in 2001…and it never ceases to leave me in awe. It is one of the most wonderful places I've been and those trees are remarkable and amazing.
If you ever have the chance to go, GO. Truly beautiful!
