What About BOB?

BOB

Well, our secret is out...I'm knocked up, got myself in trouble, in a family way, got a bun in the oven, etc. The above ultrasound is from our 12 week appointment. We began telling immediate family and very close friends at 15 weeks on March 13th (my Mom's birthday!) We made our big announcement during Greg's birthday party at our home over the weekend (a very chilly evening, but still fun for a backyard cocktail party!) For those that couldn't be with us, here's the video (it's very dark as we were outside during the evening, but you get the point):

Now, for some details. I am due September 4th, a Virgo Labor Day baby. I am 17 weeks as of March 27th. As far as 1st trimesters go, I had a very smooth one. Basically, I quelled any inklings of morning sickness by eating about 9 times a day. I can definitely tell I've entered the 2nd trimester though as my energy level is up and my constant need to eat is down. We are not going to find out the gender until the baby makes his/her arrival. We have not decided on names; however, our fetus is currently called "Bob." Originally we thought it would be funny to name a fetus "Bob", but it has become somewhat of an acronym, as in "big ole belly" or "big ole baby." Mainly it gets used to place blame: Bob made me eat all the ice cream. Bob's making me burp. Bob won't let me wear those cute jeans anymore. Bob misses "The Walking Dead" but at least "Fringe" is back.

On Greg's birthday, we made the official "now everybody can know" announcement on Facebook. Greg posted ultrasound pics along with a little message. I simply wrote "Knocked Up, Y’all” and posted this pic:

We plan on using this blog to post updates and keep family & friends informed, so check back as often as you like (or as little as the case may be) for all things SmithAldridge!
