HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY, OLLIE RAY! (Day 4 of "4 Days of Birthday Celebration")

Our baby bear is 2 years old! He is such a wonderful kid & makes us laugh constantly. Whenever we laugh at something he's said or done, he responds with, "Ollie funny!" 

His birthday morning began with a gift chosen by Myles - a balloon and a blue truck! Ollie is obsessed with a blue truck in Myles' classroom, so Myles chose something similar for Ollie have for himself. 

When Ollie was asked what he wanted for his birthday breakfast, he shouted "CAKE!" He settled for an apple turnover and scrambled eggs (b/c I just can't bring myself to serve him cake for breakfast.)

Next was the super big birthday weekend treat - a train trip on the Blueridge Scenic Railway! So much fun!

Once home, present time!

Ollie has been slightly obsessed with goats ever since his first visit to Papa & GG's home where they have 25+ goats on their property. He is especially fond of "baby goats", so he was quite excited to receive his very own "baby goat" stuffed animal for his birthday.

His own train set to go with Myles'! Now they can build a "super train track!"

*On a separate note, this will be my last blog entry for a while. As anyone who reads this has noticed (aka my mom & maybe Jess Kender) I don't update as often as I used to. Our internet speed here in the woods is what some would label "annoyingly slow" - it takes a long time for photos to load, I can't get video to load at all, and the roundabout way I have to use to get pics from my phone to the blog has so many steps. Many of the updates are a bit redundant as they show up on Facebook and Instagram as well, so it may be a bit of overkill at this point. Anyway, I've really enjoyed doing this blog and intend to pick it up again in the future and will still update from time to time. But for now, I'm letting myself off the hook. :-)

Myles & Ollie Hit the Splash Pad (Day 3 of "4 Days of Birthday Celebration")

Papa & GG had planned to arrive on Saturday to celebrate the boys' birthdays, but that darn Hurricane Hermine decided to take out 8 of their trees leaving them not only blocked by one of the trees fallen on their driveway, but scrambling to keep dogs and goats on the property. Thankfully their home was unscathed and they were unharmed!

On Saturday, we rented a cabana for the last day the Splash Pad was opened until next Summer!

Myles' Birthday at School (Day 2 of "4 Days of Birthday Celebration")

The day after Myles' birthday was his party at school. The class sang, kids ate bug cupcakes, everyone laughed at Ollie's messy face, then Greg (aka super cool Dad) gave a presentation for the "bug theme" - an emperor scorpion, giant leaf bugs, tarantula & a ginormous frog!)

Happy 4th Birthday, MYLES FLYNN (Day 1 of "4 Days of Birthday Celebration")

Our little bear turned 4 and we could not be prouder of what a wonderful kid he is! His morning began with a gift from Ollie (Ollie chose it himself) - a moon rover vehicle! Such a fitting gift & Ollie chose it completely on his own (for some reason the video of Myles opening his gift will not upload, boo.) 

When asked what he wanted for his birthday breakfast, he chose a homemade egg & cheese burrito with a side of bacon! Wish granted. 

When asked what he wanted to do on his birthday, he chose a trip to the Planetarium! He wore his new space shirt for the day.

Once home, we opened presents!

And then after his chosen birthday dinner of chicken alfredo on linguini, it was time for his chosen dessert - chocolate BUG cupcakes with chocolate frosting!
