January Recap

Hard to believe January is already kaput. So far 2014 has been fun for Myles.

We went on a hike...

to this tiny little trickling waterfall...

We picked some lemons from our tree

He investigated this Stitch toy

He rubbed yogurt in his hair

 He gardened

He used his drum as a desk & did some work on his laptop

 He did some walking

 He did some yoga

He made this cute face when I asked him, "Myles, watcha doing in the kitchen?"

 He led the way

 He hung with Clayton

And laughed at the dogs playing

 He played at the park

He learned that the fish says "blub blub"

 He wore my boots

He collected some grapefruits from the neighbors

And tried a bite...

 He lazily drank some water

He stacked his farm animals on the couch arm

He learned to walk down steps

He added "The View" to the Series Manager on the DirecTV.
It recorded 5 days in a row before I realized exactly what he'd done.

He ate some homemade chocolate chip cookies...and said "cookie"

And he nods "yes", but not really. Myles doesn't limit the act of nodding to his neck & head. He likes to involve his entire body. So, when he wants to nod "yes", he bounces.

And finally, he let me give him a haircut. Much better than the professional haircut - no tears, no cost & just as choppy & uneven. :-)

Free Museum Day in LA

Saturday was "Free Museum Day" in LA, so we took advantage & headed to MOCA,
the Museum of Contemporary Art in downtown LA.

Clowns in a Boat

Clown Funeral

After MOCA, we headed to get Myles his first taste of authentic Oaxacan fare at Guelaguetza - yum for mole!

A Tale of Two Water Bowls

It was the best of times, it was the wettest of times...

Myles likes to get his hands on the dogs' outside water bowl/bucket

He likes to try and get into it. How he thinks he'll accomplish this is beyond me; however, this is what it looks like when he tries.

So, I decided to make Myles a water sensory bowl of his own. Here is Clayton drinking from it. Apparently they have some sort of arrangement.

Myles did get some time to play in his bowl without the dog quenching his thirst from it.

Eventually, Myles emptied the bowl of toys...

and like the dog water bowl, he attempted to get in it...

The day ended in nudity...

...as all good days do.

The End

Hosed

Myles recently discovered the joy of running through the garden hose. While I was spraying the lawn, he slowly approached & laughed hysterically when he touched the spray. Within minutes he was running underneath the hose & having the best time.

Here is a video. Please ignore my ridiculously goofy laughter. It is difficult to hold an iPhone, make a video & spray your child with the hose (without nailing him in the face) while trying to subtly laugh. It comes out lame-sounding.

Soaked.

Myles has a Hat

Myles Meets Ben

Myles met Ben the English Mastiff "pup" when Greg brought him home for the night. Ben is starring in one of the finalist Doritos ads (the winner of which will air during the Superbowl) & Greg took him to be on the morning news. Ben is super sweet & thinks he's lap dog...even though no one's lap could accommodate him!
