Uncle Charley Gets Married!

My baby brother got hitched, y'all! And to a lovely gal named Mollie. They had a very small, very lovely lakeside wedding at her grandmother's home in Covington, LA (just over the bridge from New Orleans.)

Myles was asked to be one of the ring bearers. He looks sharp!

Wedding site - gorgeous location provided by Mollie's grandmother, decor & set up provided by my parents

My mom made all the favors - homemade soaps.

"I was told there was going to be a wedding?"

That kid's all cheeks.

Hanging by the lake before the ceremony

Gettin' pinned.

Charley loves bowties. He provided them for many of the male family members;
however, he had to tie all of them as he was the only one with this knowledge & know-how.

Getting antsy, waiting for the wedding...

And then, ring bearer time! I was the "ring bearer bearer."

Putting Myles to work - helping my parents with the reception dinner - a Low Country Boil, yum!

Does Louisiana have child labor laws?

Tasting the fruits of his labor, or rather, the rutabaga of his labor.

"Not bad, y'all."

Yum.

Myles Goes to Atlanta et al

We recently traveled to Atlanta to visit Greg's family (and see Uncle Charley get married in Louisiana, but more on that later.) Myles did great on the airplane...and on the shuttle....
and in the car...round trip. Kid is a trouper!
Waiting to get off that plane

Myles drew this on the magna doodle - I thought it was particularly good.

While driving to Louisiana, we stopped at the Battleship Memorial Park
in Tuscaloosa to break up the 8 hour car ride.

Once in Louisiana, Myles immediately got into the spicy spirit!

Spent a morning in New Orleans. First stop, Cafe du Monde for Myles's first beignet & hot chocolate!

Although this pic tells a different tale, we almost had to force the beignet on Myles. Silly kid.

But, wooo, he loved drinking hot chocolate from a spoon. Again, silly kid.

Myles enjoyed watching the horse drawn carriages & marching band at Jackson Square

Back in ATL, we learned that there were many parks to explore...
