Biscuit, 17 Weeks

So, Biscuit is now 17 weeks. I can't believe that with Myles, we didn't tell friends we were pregnant until 17 weeks! I feel like people have known for so long this time. Biscuit is now about the size of a turnip & his/her skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone. Also, Biscuit is developing sweat glands, sweaty lil' baby.

I also have full time child care work for the next 3 months, so it's been a busy week adjusting to taking care of Myles, being pregnant AND taking care of a 6 month old, Logan; however, I'm VERY happy to have the work!

Shorts & new sandals - enjoying the warmer weather (at least one of us is, Lord help me.)

Big & Strong!

Where's Myles?!

Biscuit, 16 Weeks

Dear Biscuit -

You are 16 weeks old. You are now the size of an avocado (yum!) Personally, I don't understand all the food comparisons - all the foods come is various sizes, so... According to "the book" (or rather, my pregnancy app), your eyes have moved closer to the front of your head. Which is good. It's good to have eyes at the front of your head. Also, I felt you kick for the first time! Just fluttery and only from the inside, but definitely movement!

We celebrated Easter all weekend with various activities & your Uncle Charley & Aunt Mollie joined us for Easter dinner, yea!

Love & XOXO -
Mama

Egg Dying Time

"Holy crap, it turned orange."

Yellow, blue, yellow, blue, decisions, decisions

"Hmm, my hand is green. Wonder what we're gonna do about that."

"This water looks delicious."

"I was wrong."

"Here Tupelo, participate!"

Myles dyed all the eggs all by himself
(obviously, I wrote his name & the letter "M", but the rest was all him.)
I think he did a great job!

"Easter's awesome!"

Biscuit, 15 Weeks

Dear Biscuit -

You are now 15 weeks old. You are about the size of an apple, can move all your joints & limbs and formed some taste buds! This week we baked a cake with Myles, played with Clayton & Tupelo, you received your first baby gifts and you made your first visit to our favorite local spot for breakfast, Humble Bee Cafe, yum!

Love & XOXO -

Myles said he wanted to bake a cake

He said he would help

He fell down on the job

CAKE!

This is what I call "Fake Baking" - it's not from scratch at all. It's a box cake mix, a can of pie filling & 3 eggs, all baked up & yummy.  I used to roll my eyes at such recipes, but now I kinda embrace them.

Myles & Biscuit received a package from GG & Papa! Biscuit received some cute new clothes.
Myles carried them around saying, "Baba, Baba" when I told him they were for the baby.

Finger Puppets!
Checking out his new shirt

"I'm gonna be a Big Brother! Yea!"

Eating his weight at Humble Bee

With this week's heat, we discovered that when it's hot & sunny,
Myles gets this heart shape splotch on his arm. As soon as he comes inside & cools off,
it goes away. He's so lovey!

Biscuit, 14 Weeks

Dear Biscuit -

You are 14 weeks old. This week you have grown to the size of a clenched fist & are growing hair. We have told many people about you. Comments ranged from "You are so tiny" to "Oh my God, you're so huge already."

This week we celebrated Papa's birthday, took Myles to a couple My Gym classes, went to the park with Myles & Daddy, took a nap with Tupelo & told Clayton to stop chewing the fence. And like several weeks prior to this, we did not win the lottery.

Love & XOXO
Mama

Happy Birthday, Papa!

When Myles doesn't want to smile, I'll say, "Where are your teeth?"
The result isn't quite the same.

Knocked Up (Again.) :-)

Myles's Special Message

Yup, we're preggo...again! Myles is gonna be a big brother & we're thrilled to add to the SmithAldridge family! I'm currently 13 weeks along & due to my "advanced maternal age", I have a regular OB as well as a perinatologist (just as during my pregnancy with Myles.) One has my due date as 10/4 ("10-4, good buddy!") and the other has my due date as 9/24. So, let's say...somewhere around there is when we expect Baby #2 to make his or her appearance. Until then, #2 is referred to as "Biscuit" - something kinda Southern sounding (and I'm always hungry. Mmm, biscuits.)  Been feeling great, eating like a champ & so far, all is happy & healthy!

"Biscuit" SmithAldridge, 12 weeks 5 days

Mama, Myles & "Biscuit." I'm bigger than I was at 13 weeks with Myles; however, I weigh the same.

I found out I was pregnant on Groundhog's Day! This is how I told Greg...

Wore the "knocked up" shirt to Game Night to tell our friends. Pictures were taken of bellies.
They say that after years together, couples begin to look alike.

"Wait. What does this say?"

"Yea!!!"

...and so begins The Biscuit Blog!
(which is just this blog, but ya know, with "Biscuit" updates & weekly belly pics.)
